Renée Buller is a Wildlife Artist from Castle Rock, Colorado. Her application of oils on linen captures the abundance of the profound beauty in nature & wildlife. Renée is a Colorado native and focuses her landscape and wildlife paintings on the habitat and animals of North America and beyond. She has been in and around wildlife and nature the entirety of her life. After apprenticing under her Father in sculpting, Renée found her niche in flatwork. Artists and collectors liken her work to that of Bob Kuhn and Ken Carlson though it is clear that her style is uniquely her own. Renée has both private and commercial collectors throughout North America. Renée Buller is the daughter of renowned wildlife sculptor and television host Stephen LeBlanc.

Opening Evergreen Fine Art Gallery’s much-anticipated 2015 showcase calendar on a very bright page, Colorado

artist Renée Buller’s dazzling wildlife portraits are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.

“Impressions of Creation” begins with an Artist Reception and Gallery Talk from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday,

Feb. 7, and continues through the end of the month as a memorable series of wonderfully intimate encounters

with some of the Rocky Mountains’ most colorful characters. While Buller’s perceptive brush captures the moods

and manners of creatures ranging from elk, to bear, to sleek and stealthy mountain lions, her first love and

greatest passion is wildlife on the wing. Plover and piper, curlew and coot come playfully, vibrantly, brilliantly to

life in oil on linen canvas.

“It’s their personalities,” Buller says. “They each have their individual little ‘quirks’ that just make me smile.”

A former Evergreen resident now living in Castle Rock, her heart and home have always been in the West, and

abundant inspiration has always been at her fingertips.

“I’ve seen many parts of our state, but there’s always more to explore. I love going to Rocky Mountain National

Park, but I find all of Colorado inspiring.”

A favorite of both private and commercial collectors across the nation, the Centennial State native came of age

surrounded by not only Rocky Mountain majesties, but by the artistic example of her father, celebrated wildlife

sculptor and Outdoor Channel host Stephen LeBlanc.

“I grew up around wildlife,” Buller smiles. “The apple didn’t fall far from the tree.”

At first glance, it’s tempting to see Buller as an impressionist. Certainly her bold strokes, dramatic focus and

exuberant approach to color are all graduates of that school. But it simply isn’t possible to look at one of Buller’s

remarkable studies once without looking again, which is when you’re struck by a marvelously subtle, and subtly

brassy, brand of realism that is uniquely her own. Although rendered with a swift and forceful brush, Buller’s

birds are perfectly formed and true from crest to claw, ready to leap into life in a flurry of fuss and feathers.

Just as remarkable is Buller’s talent for setting a proper stage. A few blades of grass, or a small twist of branches,

are by her skillful hand amplified into aspen glade and green meadow. Behind them, Nature softens into breath

and suggestion, presenting a neutral curtain of wonderful richness and depth before which her brightly-costumed

    virtuosos sing.

“I like to think that the subject matter is the focus of my paintings, so I bring more detail to it,” Buller explains.

“I try to keep my backgrounds complementary, but not‘attention-grabbing.’”

Guests to “Impressions of Creation” will not only meet a lively variety of Colorado’s wild inhabitants, but will be

introduced to them by a top-flight artist who knows their secrets.

“Expect some whimsical encounters that capture those unique personalities.”

“Impressions of Creation” will run from Feb. 7 through Feb. 28, 2015. Evergreen Fine Art Gallery & Sculpture

Garden is located at 3042 Evergreen Parkway in Evergreen. To learn more, call 303-679-3610, or visit
