She paints her scenes of animals and landscapes both in the studio and en plein air, and draws inspiration from her many travels and her home in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

"I strive to capture the ideal that surrounds us in my paintings. The color and light on a subject are the relationships that interest me and spark my creative energy. I want to push the edges, inspire the viewer, and live the experience... For me, it is the process of my work that is the essence of why I paint. I find he texture and fluidity of oil paint to be very sculptural…the paint itself is celebrated and brushstrokes are not only visible to the viewer, but also intrinsic to the success of the piece. Each painting is a wonderful, new discovery of a chosen subject through its shapes, colors, and movement."
