Pastels and Oils

Ernie Gallegos has studied with Ramon Kelley, David Lefell and Daniel Greene and his works in pastels or oils reflect the mastery of his instructors. They are subtle and beautiful; they capture the essence of soft natural light.

Ernie enjoys the process of painting: deciding the direction or pressure of each stroke, choosing one pastel hue from a myriad of colors, each small choice creating this magical thing he loves called painting.

Born in 1948 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Ernie's family moved to Colorado that same year. He was fortunate to study at the New York Art Students' League. He has painted all his life but has only now been able to achieve a dream: to paint every day. And we couldn't be happier too!
