Mary E. Dunn, Fine Artist
"Painting for me is a way to passionately sense the world and the people in it through my style of realism and impressionism. I prefer to work from life, plein air, not only to see the colors and objects, but also to perceive the mood and energy of the location. When I’m in a new place, I talk to the people, who help me understand the culture, and then the act of painting is even more exciting to me.”
Mary is equally at home painting in the middle of a busy market in Rome or alone in the Rocky Mountains . She has studied with Quang Ho, Kim English, Mark Daily, Jerry de la Cruz, Kim Mackey, David Barbero, and Patrick Hamilton of Florence , Italy . Since l993, Mary has been showing in solo and group exhibitions. Her oils are available through her studio, galleries, and private commissions.
